Lindaupark 'Spatenstich': Start construction of the Vierlinden Quartier

With the first spade entering the soil the construction officially started. In the next years a new residential area will be built. This living area is part of the larger Lindaupark concept, bringing together living, shopping and meeting. As early as 2025, the Vierlinden district in Lindau-Reutin is expected to be ready for its first residents. The construction project will be completed in three phases and will include the development of 13 apartment buildings, a public day-care center, and retail, office, and commercial space.

The Vierlinden quarter meets all today's requirements, as it provides a third of its rented apartments will be social housing; there are house types for all different target groups. Of course, sustainability is also a very important topic in the development. The district is powered by 100% renewable energy and over half of the area is dedicated to green space.

On Wednesday, during the groundbreaking ceremony, Dr. Claudia Alfons, the Lord Mayor of the City of Lindau, stated that the Vierlinden district in her eyes will bring about a positive transformation of the Berliner Platz area. "This new development will bring new life to the Reutin district and have a positive impact."

Together with the new residential area the existing Lindaupark shopping centre will be completely modernized after 23 years, the sales area and the gastronomy area increased by 5,000 square meters . "We want to appeal more to a young audience," explains Lindaupark owner Thomas Feneberg. "A new center is now being built here, where everything you need for everyday life, housing, shopping, buses and trains are close together."

The Lindaupark shopping centre will be extended to the Vierlinden Quartier with a mixed use building. Also, the construction includes five new parking levels and an underground car park for residents. Four three-storey houses with a total of 64 social housing rental apartments are being built on the parking levels, which should be ready for occupancy in 2026.

We are proud to be part of a big team creating a new multifunctional area in Lindau. JDV is responsible for the design of Hause N and the shopping centre.
